Changing Course
You may be feeling that your course is not what you want to do, or not what you thought it would be. These feelings could be due to homesickness; being away from home for the first time, away from parents, friends and perhaps a partner, entering a totally new environment.
Its a good idea to initially talk to your Personal Tutor. They have lots of experience and can offer good advice.
If, after consideration, you are sure you are on the wrong course, or at the wrong university, contact the President of the Students' Union. The President is here to assist you and offer options and recommendations.
Also make an appointment with the Students'Union Advice Unit, the advisor can advise you on the financial implications.
- If you are still in the first few weeks of your course and you are sure you want to change and know what you want to change to, contact the new course and/or university AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE as you may be able to transfer directly.
- You may run into difficulties with funding, so don't do anything without talking to an advisor first.
Please note that we advise students in receipt of a mandatory award to consult their Local Education Authority (LEA) prior to changing course about its willingness to transfer the award.
