SOCIETIES COMMITTEE

 

The Societies Committee meets at three weekly intervals to discuss budget allocations for Societies, and other issues.

 

Societies Committee Meetings will start at 4.15pm on Tuesdays in the Students Union, Resource Room, Lower Ground Floor, unless otherwise stated.

 

At least two members from each Society shall attend the Societies Committee Meetings.

 

Representation of up to two members per society has voting rights; other members who attend can only be observers.

 

Non-attendance by any Society at two consecutive meetings without reasonable excuse will result in disaffiliation from the Union.

 

Attendance will be monitored by the use of attendance sheets. These will be passed around at the meeting and signed by all.

 

All budget sheets must be handed to the Student Activities Co-ordinator by 10.00am on Monday previous to the Societies Committee Meeting. These must be signed by the following before being accepted. Chair; Treasurer; Equipment Officer.

 

Budgets are presented in alphabetical order. Societies Committee members are allowed to ask questions/raise issues about the budget.

 

The Vice President (Finance and Recreation) of the Students' Union chairs the meeting, then he/she will come to some agreement whether some or the whole budget should be granted.
