Would you like the opportunity to represent your University and play for the largest Students' Union Sports Club?

If the answer is yes, come and join the UBSU Football Club.  Last year we had three football teams and for the new academic year we have extended it to four. We all play in the Northern Conference league of British Universities Sports Association (BUSA).

All our teams are run by students via the Students' Union; our club captains, chairman, secretaries and fixtures secretaries are all trained at the Students' Union and are selected to run the teams by a democratic process.

All teams play on a Wednesday and train during the week using Bolton Arena's excellent facilities, and not only do we play in the BUSA league but we have the opportunity to play abroad against other universities on our Annual Sports Tour.

Joining the University Football Club allows you to play football at an excellent standard and it gives you the opportunity to meet new people and get involved with university life, for although we play football, we also have a great social life.

Membership fee is £15 which covers:

  • Insurance (training and match days)
  • Use of football kit
  • Use of training facilities
  • Pitch fees

  • Additional cost for transport to and from games and training from £1-2.
