… become a Course Rep!

The Students’ Union believes that Course Reps play an important role in representing students and maintaining the quality of courses in the University. 

As a course Rep you are in an excellent position to influence the University.  You have the opportunity to express not just your own views, but to act as the spokesperson for all the learners on your course.  This gives you an opportunity to make a real impact and change the learning experience for learners on your course.

What’s in it for you?

You will pick up important skills such as negotiating, researching the opinions of others, working as part of a team to name a few - useful in any career you go on to pursue.  You will also receive a credited certificate from the University and the Students' Union for your part in the project, and the opportunity to win the Course Rep of the Year accolade at the end of year event.

The University and the Students' Union are also looking at developing a credited module for Course Reps so you can earn credits for your volunteering role... watch this space!

What kind of support do we offer?

We offer an introductory training session for all Course Reps, and refresher sessions for continuing reps.  For more information see our 'support and information' section.

We will also be facilitating Course Rep forums where you get the chance to meet each other and share your views and opinions with us which will then be fed into the University reporting mechanisms - hopefully all the way up to the Academic Board!  The Student Representation Co-Ordinator will be on hand to provide you with full support and guidance whenever you need it.
