Calling ALL Students...
Your views and the views of other learners' on your course are very valuable to the University in helping them to improve their services to you. As a Course Rep you are in an excellent position to influence the University. You have the opportunity to express not just your own views, but to act as the spokesperson for all the learners on your course. This gives you an opportunity to make a real impact and change the learning experience to learners on your course.
As a course rep you can :
Help the University to become better at meeting your needs
Influence what, how and when you are taught
Influence other aspects of University life - such as the information and guidance services and the University canteen
What can you gain from being a Course Rep?
Apart from the satisfaction of getting your views heard, there are other advantages to being a course rep.
Training - We recommend that all new course reps attend the introductory training session. The sessions will take place late October / Early November. The training will cover all aspects of your role as a course rep. For more information see our 'support and information' section.
Gaining Experience - As a course rep you will gain lots of experience that will be relevant to your working life - for example, listening, public speaking and report writing. You will also be able to use this to enhance your CV when you start looking for a job.
Incentives - You will receive an accredited certificate which can help you when applying for jobs, we also have an annual event to thank the course reps for all their hard work.
